Recently, I had the privilege of watching an incredible social experiment called Kony 2012. The creator of the movement appeared to be full of compassion and eager to create lasting positive change. I have also witnessed the Occupy movement and several movement’s around the world against injustice. Although I may not totally agree with their methodology I respect their impact on the world. There is an awareness campaign that has resonated with the hearts of majority of the world. The need for true justice is great and the hatred for injustice grows broader everyday.

What tends to upset me more than anything is America’s willingness to take on the task of cleaning others houses without first cleaning their own. The politicians aren’t the only ones who are guilty of this crime. Many American citizens like you and I are guilty of forgetting America while showing compassion to those abroad. Don’t get me wrong injustice anywhere is a injustice for us all. However, it is darn right crazy to run away to a totally different country to help a stranger clean up his house when you haven’t even cleaned up your own house. There is a Kony that haunts America! Be it in the form of Wall street, joblessness, poor living conditions, underdeveloped communities, poverty, inequality, fear, indecent Healthcare, Corruption, injustice, etc. I wonder who will stand up against this monster. It won't be a politician.
There are those who are cleaning their own homes and the homes of their next door neighbors in America. Co-operative community movement’s and local economy empowerment groups like “Balle” are making a significant impact in the lives of oppressed and otherwise struggling Americans lives. There are also individuals like Sal Dimiceli (of timeisnowtohelp.org), Taryn Davis (of American Widow Project), and Diane Latiker ( of Kidsofftheblock.bbnow.org) just to name a few, who are making great impacts in their own community. I have summarized the major needs that I’m sure all Americans would agree on. I call this the “All Peoples Agenda” we the people of the United States of America all desire 1) Adequate Health Care,2) Healthy Environment action , 3)Sustainable High Quality of Life, 4)High quality Education for all, and 5)Sufficient Security.
